Benefits of TSA membership

As a recognized student organization, TSA offers you and your students the opportunity to be involved in local, state, and national competitions; to participate in leadership training and develop professional skills; and to network with students and teachers from other schools.

For Students

One of the greatest advantages of TSA membership is the inspiration and excitement students experience when their knowledge and efforts are recognized. Showcasing their skills in a setting beyond the classroom encourages them to stay motivated, especially when surrounded by a large community of peers who share similar interests and offer support. Additional benefits include the following opportunities:

TSA membership provides students with numerous valuable opportunities, including the chance to work with guidance on complex projects from start to finish and to collaborate closely as part of a team. Members can compete at both state and national levels while developing leadership skills through involvement at the local, state, or national stages. They also have the opportunity to connect with business and industry leaders, travel to organized meetings, and meet students from across the United States who share similar interests. In addition, members can contribute their time and effort to a national service project, receive national membership benefits such as the School Scene newsletter, and gain recognition through TSA’s honor society, scholarships, and achievement programs. Furthermore, students are given a voice in a national organization that plays an active role in shaping the future of technology education in classrooms across America.

 

 

Competitive Events

Chapters have the chance to take TSA beyond the school building to compete with others around the state and/or country in technology competitions.

Leadership Opportunities

Leadership training is offered at the state and national level. Officers are elected at the local (chapter) level, the state level, and the national level.

Conferences

District, state and national conferences are an excellent way to expand your TSA experience. They provide a venue for exciting competitions as well as an opportunity to meet students and advisors from other schools with similar interests.
